Cal Students United Against Tasers

Cal students protested outside the Berkeley Police Station on Saturday, April 12, 2014, following a call for the use of tasers by the Berkeley Police Association.

John Carl, one of the protesters, stated:
They'll use them on us.  We've all seen the footage of the clubbing of students in the Occupy UC Berkeley protests from over a year ago.  When the police get panicky, they see students as the enemy. Cal makes Berkeley's economy.  The businesses owe us and we expect them to stand behind us against the tasers.
Jim, a pre-med student, spoke about the long-term dangers of using tasers on human beings.
Long term taser damage to humans and animals is still being evaluated.  We know some people have died from being struck with a taser.  There is also a link to cancer and other serious conditions.  This new police demand is against public interest.
Cal students plan more protests in the future.

Banding together for the Blue

UC funds have been hijacked by an Orange County man who managed to divert hundreds of thousands from a Wells Fargo Trust left to the University of California.   The donor was a former Cal Graduate but the funds hijacker has managed to convince Wells Fargo to delay payment to UC Berkeley while sending him funds from the Trust numerous times a year.   This was subject to a controversy.  The widow of the donor has insisted that the man used false pretenses and fraud to hijack the funds and that he was never an intended beneficiary of the trust.

The funds grabber is is not happy to vacation on Cal's hijacked money.  He is now going after funds assigned to one of Berkeley's top grads by the Cal Grad's grandmother.  The battle is taking place in Central Orange County on March 21, 2014.  In court, the man has admitted that he committed fraud but claims that he is better suited to receive the money than  the Blue.  He is mad because Berkeley disapproved his application years ago and says that he is entitled to any funds his elite legal team can get a court to grant him.  Are the courts that easy prey for thieves that property and contracts don't count?

Cal grads in Southern California are mounting their own offensive.  They plan to show up in BLUE at C-14  at 1:30 March 21 to support a demand that contract law be enforced.   The location is 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, CA 92701.

GO BLUE.

Cal is Number One

This year, Cal Berkeley was at the top in graduate salaries.  2013 graduates are reporting salaries of $40,000 to $750,000.  Way to go.

Last year, Steve Wozniak personally shook the hands of graduating students .  He knows where the best students are.   In 2015, Call students are anticipating that President Obama will be the keynote Speaker.

UC Berkeley continues to be the top public university.  It is also listed as most selective.   Cal only takes the best and puts the best back into the world.  Go Bears.
